It secured the Big Ten West championship after beating Indiana 30-16 on Saturday in Bloomington. Michigan and Purdue did not meet during the regular season.
Michigan entered last year’s Big Ten title game as a 12-point favorite over Iowa, before beating the Hawkeyes 42-3. It was the Wolverines’ first Big Ten championship since 2004, and Jim Harbaugh’s first as head coach.
