PISCATAWAY − As tough as Passaic Tech played all year, Micah Ford & Co. were once again tougher.

The Bulldogs fell to Toms River North in the NJSIAA Group 5 football final for the second year in a row, 23-13, Monday at Rutgers’ SHI Stadium.

Ford carried 41 times for 199 yards and a touchdown and also threw a 10-yard TD pass to help the Mariners (12-2) defend their title.

Although Trashon Dye ran for a pair of scores for Passaic Tech (13-1), the Bulldogs were unable to slow the Toms River North offense, which controlled the line of scrimmage and time of possession.
