[MUSIC PLAYING]CHARLES MCDONALD: Dak Prescott, how confident are that he can win a playoff game? I don’t think this is a 10.
SETH GALINA: So you think it’s an 11?
CHARLES MCDONALD: I think it’s more like a 7 for me. I don’t trust the run defense. And that, to me– that’s one of the scariest things that can happen in playoff football. You just get carved up one game in the run.
SETH GALINA: Me and you and some other friends of ours talk about this all the time. This whole certain subset of people who talk about football love to talk about safeties playing linebacker. And, well, that should just be what we do. We should just play safeties at linebacker, and that’s good enough.
And the Cowboys are a great example of– OK, I do think the number one thing in run defense is probably in terms of individual players– we’re not talking about scheme or anything like that. I think individual players, it’s probably your one and your three. Your two interior defensive players, interior defensive linemen, they are probably the most important players here, right?
But after that, it’s like maybe the edge guys. But after that, it’s obviously the two inside linebackers. Then it’s like, OK, well, they have these two linebackers, Damone Clark and Markquese Bell. Markquese Bell is a safety playing linebacker. Damone Clark is a speed guy. He played linebacker his whole life, or at least since college, but he’s a speed guy sideline to sideline.
And it’s like, OK, this is what happens when you don’t have a good interior defensive line. Osa Odighizuwa is a good player for sure. But other than that, it’s been rough….
