Georgia football lands commitment from speedy Athens-area 3-star prospect

Georgia football has grabbed another local product for its 2025 class.

North Oconee senior wide receiver Landon Roldan confirmed his pledge to the Bulldogs Thursday night on social media.

“100% Committed,” Roldan reposted on X, formerly Twitter.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Roldan is a three-star prospect and the first out of North Oconee to go to UGA, according to coach Tyler Aurandt. He’s rated the No. 97 wide receiver and No. 68 state of Georgia prospect by 247Sports Composite for the class of 2025.

What does Landon Roldan bring to Georgia football?

While those numbers don’t show it, he’s proven himself to the coaching staff.

“He went to camp there a couple of weeks ago and did really well,” Aurandt said. “Well enough that they asked him to come back, so he came back a second time and actually had another really good camp. They offered him at the end of it, … and he just went on his official visit this past weekend.”

Roldan had run a 4.37 40-yard dash, according to a post made by UGASports.com’s Radi Nabulsi.

His profile is reminiscent of Ladd McConkey, the receiver who was drafted 34th overall by the Chargers in 2024 after a stellar Georgia career.

McConkey was considered a three-star by 247Sports and its No. 187 overall receiver in the country and 126th best player in Georgia.

Roldan becomes the 17th commitment for Georgia’s class of 2025.

His offers included Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Central Michigan and Air Force.

“For him, that has always been a dream of his, to play at Georgia,” Aurandt said. “To have that opportunity, and to be only 15 to 20 minutes away from campus, I think that really played a role in his decision.”

Kirby Smart tweeted his patented “Go Dawgs” response to Roldan’s commitment.
