Oklahoma high school football: Muskogee offensive lineman Miguel Chavez commits to UNLV

Muskogee offensive lineman Miguel Chavez announced his commitment to UNLV on Monday.

A member of the 2025 class, Chavez helped Muskogee win the Class 6A-II state title last season as the Roughers finished 11-2.

Chavez announced his top four on Thursday, and those schools were Central Arkansas, Lindenwood, UNLV and Utah State.

His teammate and star 2025 quarterback Jamarian Ficklin is set to commit Thursday. Ficklin’s top four includes North Texas, Texas State, UNLV and Utah State.

UNLV’s head coach is former Maysville and Ada star Barry Odom. The Rebels compete in the Mountain West Conference and went 9-5 in 2023, Odom’s first season at the school. He was named the conference’s coach of the year and was the school’s first Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award finalist.
