Get to know Colorado State football’s growing 2025 recruiting class

June is the big month for college football teams that still build out big high school signing classes.

It’s a flurry of official visits and commitments.

The Colorado State football program did significant work on its 2025 signing class in June, with a number of public commitments. There are others who are believed to have privately pledged their commitment to the staff but haven’t announced it yet. CSU has also already had one player commit and then flip (receiver Michael Dever out of Texas changed his pledge from the Rams to Texas Tech).

Here is a look at the players CSU landed in its first surge in the 2025 class. These are verbal commitments. Players can’t officially sign until December.

John Smith, safety

One of the more versatile recruits to pop up. The 6-foot-4, 186-pound Smith plays all over the field in high school, from quarterback to receiver to defensive back for Sterling High School in Texas. The Rams plan to have him as a safety. His other reported offer according to 247Sports is from UTSA, while On3 reports a Texas A&M offer.

Nathan Sutcliffe, punter

Paddy Turner’s time at CSU will be up after the 2024 season and it looks like the Rams will hope an Australian works out once again in the role. Sutcliffe has worked with the famed ProKick Australia academy.

Brayden Thompson, offensive line

The 6-foot-8, 315-pound Thompson is another in the physical build this staff seeks. He’s ranked a 3-star recruit by 247Sports. The Wisconsin native has a reported offer from Northern Iowa and committed to the Rams shortly after an official visit in June.

Trishstin Glass, receiver

A big, athletic receiver out of Texas. Glass is 6-foot-4 and has more than 1,000 career yards so far in high school, including just shy of 500 last season. Glass is also an elite high jumper in track and field. Ranked as a high three-star recruit by…
