A potentially big recruiting week in Columbia started with a bang.
Missouri football secured a commitment out of four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs on Thursday, when the Cocoa, Florida, product became the second wideout to commit to the Tigers’ Class of 2025 and the 13th player overall in a recruiting class that is quickly rising up the national rankings.
Boggs chose the Tigers over UCF, the nearby school to his hometown Cocoa High. He is rated as the 24th-ranked wideout in his class and the No. 211 player in the nation, per the recruiting service 247Sports’ composite rankings. During his recruitment, Boggs officially visited Georgia and USC before narrowing his options down to UCF and Missouri.
He is the second wide receiver to commit to Mizzou’s next class, following Ironton, Ohio, native Shaun Terry, a three-star prospect at the position.
Missouri missed out on in-state four-star prospect Corey Simms, a Christian Brothers College in St. Louis product, who chose to verbally commit to USC over Missouri on Sunday.
Mizzou didn’t miss at the second time of asking for a wide receiver this week.
The Tigers have now secured a four- or five-star receiver in every recruiting class of the Eli Drinkwitz era in Columbia.
And Boggs’ pledge might just be the start of a class-defining week.
