On3’s Jesse Simonton has made a list of the top 10 nonconference games of the 2024 college football season. The USC Trojans’ opening game against the LSU Tigers made the top 10 this upcoming season.
LSU versus USC comes in at No. 3 on the list. The game will be played at a neutral site in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
The matchup will be a first for both teams. For LSU, this will be the Tigers’ first time playing in Nevada. For USC, it’s the Trojans’ first game as members of the Big Ten Conference.
The last meeting was a very long time ago in 1985 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, resulting in an uneventful 23-3 LSU victory.
The USC schedule also includes key road conference games at Michigan and Washington, and home games against Wisconsin and Penn State. The Trojans play annual nonconference rival Notre Dame in Los Angeles this year.
LSU is widely regarded as the favorite over USC for the Week 1 matchup.
