Former Florida State football wide receiver Goldie Lawrence is returning to Tallahassee.

However, the redshirt freshman is going to the other side of the railroad tracks.

On Friday, Lawrence announced he’s transferring to play for the Florida A&M Rattlers.

Lawrence has four eligibility years remaining and initially transferred from FSU to UCF in April before re-entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Lawrence joining FAMU football adds him to a team competing for another Black College National Championship under first-year head coach James Colzie III, also a former FSU football player.

Other former Seminoles on the Rattlers’ roster are tight end Koby Gross, offensive linemen Jalen Goss and Christopher Williams, and defensive back Demorie Tate.

According to HERO Sports’ Sam Herder, Lawrence is FAMU’s 27th transfer from the Football Bowl Subdivision ranks, which is the most amongst Football Championship Subdivision teams this season.

Lawrence appeared in just one game versus Southern Miss during FSU’s ACC Championship run in 2023.
