Giants’ Brian Daboll credits rookie receiver Malik Nabers’ work ethic, mentality

The Giants are just two days into training camp, but head coach Brian Daboll has already seen plenty to like about New York’s rookie receiver Malik Nabers, including his work ethic, mentality and competitive spirit.

Taken with the No. 6 pick in the first round of this year’s draft, Nabers has all of the tools (as well as the opportunity) to be Big Blue’s top option in the air this season and for seasons to come. Not only does New York go into the season without a proven top wideout, quarterback Daniel Jones is returning from a torn ACL and has a history of injuries in his time with Big Blue.

And although Nabers has looked the part early on, doing it against other teams in games that count is entirely different.

“He’s competitive, he wants to do well and he’s willing to do anything he can do to be as good as he can be,” Daboll said. “He knows that he hasn’t played in the league, there’s gonna be some rough spots whenever those come up and we’re here for him, he’s here for…
