Arkansas football lands commitment from 2026 quarterback Jayvon Gilmore

Arkansas football added a foundational piece to its 2026 recruiting class Thursday with the commitment of quarterback Jayvon Gilmore.

The South Carolina product chose the Razorbacks over the likes of N.C. State, Louisville and Texas A&M, announcing his decision on his social media profiles. He is the third commit in Arkansas’ 2026 class, joining San Diego safety Tay Lockett and Hot Springs offensive lineman Tucker Young, a pair of three-star prospects.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Gilmore is also a three-star prospect and ranks as the No. 37 quarterback in the 2026 class. At 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, Gilmore threw for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns during his sophomore season at Gaffney High School. He completed 53% of his passes and ran 48 times for 112 yards.

Gilmore is the first high school quarterback commit since Arkansas hired Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator. Petrino landed Taylen Green out of the transfer portal in December, and Green will be the Hogs’ starting quarterback in 2024.

KJ Jackson represented Arkansas’ quarterback in the 2024 class, and four-star prospect Grayson Wilson is committed in the class of 2025, but both players committed to Arkansas before Petrino’s arrival.

Other quarterbacks currently in the program are redshirt freshmen Malachi Singleton, Blake Boda and Austin Ledbetter.
