2026 LSU quarterback target Faizon Brandon commits to Tennessee

LSU was hoping to land the top signal-caller in the nation in back-to-back cycles, but those hopes were dashed on Saturday as five-star Greensboro, North Carolina, quarterback [autotag]Faizon Brandon[/autotag] committed to Tennessee.

In addition to the Tigers and Volunteers, NC State and Alabama were also finalists.

LSU hosted Brandon — the No. 10 player in the nation per On3 and the No. 1 overall player according to 247Sports — back in June and hoped it could land another five-star quarterback as [autotag]Bryce Underwood[/autotag] is already committed in 2025.

The Vols were the heavy favorite for Brandon, however, and they ultimately landed his services on Saturday.

LSU has already missed on several quarterback targets in the 2026 cycle, and the only uncommitted passer it has offered is five-star [autotag]Ryder Lyons[/autotag] from Folsom, California, who is the No. 11 player and No. 3 quarterback in the nation per the 247Sports composite.

Even without Brandon, LSU has a top-five class in 2026 after landing top-60 safety [autotag]Aiden Hall[/autotag] earlier on Saturday.
