ESPN announced in a press release this weekend that former head coach Steve Addazio will join the network as a color commentator and analyst for the 2024 college football season.

Addazio will be paired with veteran play-by-play voice Clay Matvick, who has been with ESPN since 2006.

Addazio was head coach at Temple from 2011-12 before going on to lead Boston College from 2013-19. After Boston College, he landed at Colorado State where he coached the Rams for two seasons before being fired after a 4-12 record.

Addazio’s star rose while working on Urban Meyer’s staff at Florida. In Gainesville, he served as tight ends coach (2005-06) and Associate Head Coach/offensive line coach (2007-08). The Gators won two national championships in that span with Tim Tebow at quarterback.

In 2009, after Dan Mullen had accepted the head coaching job at Mississippi State, Addazio was promoted to offensive coordinator, a position he held for two years before accepting the Temple job.

More news concerning broadcast teams and commentator assignments should be announced soon. Recently, ESPN announced that veteran analyst Tom Luginbill would team with Wes Durham for the ACC Network’s premier broadcast each Saturday.
