DCA’s Carson Sneed, a 4-star 2026 tight end, commits to Tennessee football over Ohio State

Carson Sneed is following his heart and his head.

The DCA four-star tight end announced on Monday he’s committing to Tennessee football after spending the past week mulling the decision.

Sneed also got an assist from one of Tennessee, and the nation’s, top high school football recruits.

Sneed is the most recent in-state Vols commit, joining Ensworth’s four-star defensive tackle Ethan Utley, Baylor’s three-star wide receiver Joakim Dodson, Sheffield’s four-star wideout Radarious Jackson, and Jefferson County’s four-star offensive guard Nic Moore. But those four are all for the Class of 2025.

Sneed is ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the state for the Class of 2026, No. 8 tight end in the country according to 247Sports Composite, and had offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, Miami and Michigan among others. He narrowed those choices down to Auburn, Ole Miss, Louisville, Tennessee and Ohio State last week.

“For the past year and half since UT has been recruiting me, they’ve maintained the same consistent message,” Sneed said. “I felt comfortable around them, knowing what’s in store for me in Knoxville so I’m excited…
