Pitt football | Tyler Palko to serve as keynote speaker at annual kickoff luncheon

PITTSBURGH – Tyler Palko, one of the most prolific quarterbacks in program history, will serve as keynote speaker at the 2024 Pitt Football Kickoff Luncheon Aug. 23.

Palko will join coach Pat Narduzzi, Athletic Director Heather Lyke and the 2024 Pitt football senior class at the luncheon, which will be held at Acrisure Stadium.

Tickets for the luncheon are $65. A table of 10 costs $600, while a table with the Pitt head coach is $850. Doors open at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and the formal program at 11:30 a.m.

A native of Imperial, Palko starred at West Allegheny High School. He went on to start 35 consecutive games for the Panthers and was a three-year captain from 2004-06.

Palko finished his Pitt career ranking second in all-time total offense (8,429) and touchdown passes (66), while ranking third in passing yards (8,343).

As a sophomore in 2004, he led the Panthers to the Big East championship and a Fiesta Bowl berth. During Pitt’s memorable march to a Bowl Championship Series berth, Palko threw five touchdowns at Notre Dame – an unprecedented feat against the Fighting Irish – sparking a 41-38 win.

Off the field, he was named to the American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team for his dedication to community service. Palko’s name is inscribed on Pitt’s famed varsity walk as the 2007 recipient of the prestigious Panther Award.

Palko had NFL stints with the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. He now serves as chief revenue officer for Solutions 21.
