North Dakota State QB Cam Miller calls facing Colorado an ‘unbelievable opportunity’

Entering his fifth season at North Dakota State, quarterback Cam Miller has accomplished plenty and seen almost everything at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision level.

However, NDSU’s season opener against Colorado later this month will present a different type of challenge. While appearing on Bison 1660’s “The Insiders,” Miller shared his excitement for getting to battle the Buffs, who’ve been at the center of the college football world since hiring head coach Deion Sanders nearly two years ago.

“An unbelievable opportunity,” Miller said. “Not a lot of teams get a crack at Colorado, especially a team of our level. Guys are super excited to play a bigger team in a bigger venue with more fans. It’s just going to be bigger. The atmosphere is going to be greater than what we’ve been accustomed to, but we played in big games last year. You look back on Montana, Montana State, South Dakota State, so many games we played in where there has been a large crowd, there’s been noise. What should give us confidence is there was a game-winning drive against Montana State and Montana. We played in overtime. We’ve been in situations, and a lot of guys from that team are still here. We’ve been in every situation. Let’s bring it on and have some fun.”

Miller’s mindset is what you’d like to see from a starting quarterback leading an underdog team. Although he holds confidence in North Dakota State’s abilities, the veteran QB likely recognizes that the pressure is on Colorado to avoid the upset.
