It’s the start of a new era with Big Ten football. Four new teams, all former Pac-12 members from the West Coast are now a part of the fray in the conference making this season one of intrigue. Divisions are also gone with the top two in the overall standings meeting for the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis, and that’s before we even talk about an expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

The conference was more or less owned by Ohio State over the last couple of decades aside from the current three-year run by Michigan, but what will things look like with Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington now a part of the conference. All four have had their time in the college football spotlight, and you have to wonder what the power of the league will be going forward.

One thing we can do to kick that all off is give it our best shot to figure out what things might look like this season with all 18 teams. It’s a daunting task, and a hard one to figure out with the meshing of styles, cultures, and travel considerations that might all play into it, but we never back down from a challenge.

Here’s how we see the preseason Big Ten football power rankings as we all keep any eye on fall camp and the eventual start to the 2024 college football season.
