Big 12 football cornerback rankings: Where does Travis Hunter, Tacario Davis land?

The Big 12 is loaded with cornerbacks that opposing offenses would be wise to avoid.

The conference boasts returners such as Kansas’ Cobee Bryant and Kansas State’s Jacob Parrish. It also has newcomers such as Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tacario Davis.

Here are the top 10 cornerbacks in the Big 12 for the 2024 season.

Vaughn walked on at Utah in 2020, and he established himself as a full-time starter last season.

The 6-foot-2 cornerback racked up 53 tackles (five tackles for loss), seven pass deflections and one interception as a junior. He earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention as a result.

Utah got deeper at cornerback this offseason with the additions of Georgia Tech transfer Kenan Johnson and Michigan transfer Cameron Calhoun, and Vaughn is the leader of that group.

9. Caden Jenkins, Baylor

There weren’t a ton of bright spots last season on Baylor’s defense, which allowed the most points per game in the Big 12 (33.3).

But Jenkins was one of them. The 6-1 cornerback earned a Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year honorable mention for recording 37 tackles (one tackle for loss), six pass deflections and three interceptions.

Jenkins put up those numbers despite only starting in seven of his 12 appearances. He’ll look to deliver an even better stat line as a full-time starter this season.

8. Treydan Stukes, Arizona

Stukes is another former walk-on who’s entering his fifth and final season with Arizona.

The 6-2 cornerback recorded 55 tackles (four tackles for loss), 10 pass deflections and one interception as a junior last season. That was good enough to earn an All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
