Miami Hurricanes land commitment from 4-star DB Bryce Fitzgerald

Byrce Fitzgerald is staying home.

The Christopher Columbus four-star defensive back announced his commitment to the University of Miami on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Fitzgerald is ranked No. 50 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100.

He is the second Hurricanes commit in as many days. Newberry defensive tackle Mykah Newton flipped from N.C. State to Miami on Friday.

Fitzgerald was outstanding in 2023, his first season with Columbus. He intercepted 10 passes and helped the Explorers win the Class 4M state championship. He intercepted two passes in the state championship game against Mandarin.

Fitzgerald played safety in 2023 but spent most of the spring working at cornerback.

Miami now has commitments from 22 players in its 2025 class, including nine players on the top 100.
