The time has come for Notre Dame football to annouce its captains for the 2024 season.

Yesterday, head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] told the media that the team was close to making a decision on who they would be, but couldn’t lock down a specific number due to wanting the players to make the choice.

Well, in the end, they chose five teammates to have the “C” on their chest this fall. Find out below who was named a Notre Dame football captain.

Linebacker Jack Kiser

There is no surprise here, as I called this one yesterday. Kiser is an obvious choice, and the correct one as well.

Quarterback Riley Leonard

It’s great to see a transfer win over his teammates in such a short time, but Leonard has done it. He’s surely earned this honor.

Defensive end Rylie Mills

One of the unsung heroes of the defensive line, the senior has always considered to be a leader, but now Mills has the title.

Cornerback Benjamin Morrison

The lone non-senior, this may be the beginning of Morrison’s swan song in South Bend. It’s another honor in a decorated Irish career.

Safety Xavier Watts

The other leader of the secondary, Watts has earned this title by his play, but also the respect of his teammates. He should be in the running for plenty of national recognition after this fall.
