It time to determine the South Bend Tribune’s 2024 high school football preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Twelve athletes from Indiana high schools are listed below, in alphabetical order by school. You should be able to vote as many times as you’d like throughout the duration of the poll. Voting will remain open until midnight ET Thursday, Aug. 22, with the winners being announced Friday morning ahead of the start of the IHSAA football season. The poll can be found by SCROLLING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

Here are the nominees:
Bremen senior Tyrus Graverson
Bremen’s Tyrus Graverson (9) takes down Jimtown’s Colin Christman (4) during the Bremen vs. Jimtown football game Friday, Sept. 15 at Jimtown High School in Elkhart.
Not only was Graverson a great wide receiver for the Lions last year, but he also led Bremen with 98 tackles and three interceptions as a free safety.
Concord senior Jaron Thomas

Along with being a productive running back, Thomas had 102 tackles, three sacks and one interception on the defensive side of the ball in 2023.
Elkhart senior Mariyon Dye

Despite facing consistent double teams, the Tennessee commit still finished with 40 tackles and two sacks last fall.
