NC State football fans make predictions for 2024 season, including Wolfpack’s MVP

Folks are feeling good about N.C. State football entering the 2024 season.

Based on the results of a USA TODAY Sports survey, Wolfpack fans are optimistic about what head coach Dave Doeren’s squad can accomplish this year in the ACC and beyond.

From N.C. State’s MVP and breakout players, to the team’s most important position group, fans provided their predictions on the state of the Pack.

The Wolfpack, which is coming off four straight seasons with eight or more victories, will begin the 2024 season on Aug. 29 against Western Carolina at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Here are the results of the 2024 fan survey, which featured five questions about the Wolfpack.

Quarterback Grayson McCall predicted to be NC State football’s MVP

New quarterback Grayson McCall picked up 58% of the votes to be the Wolfpack’s MVP in his first season with the program. The Coastal Carolina transfer was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year during his time with the Chanticleers. Across 42 games, McCall logged 10,005 yards and 88 passing touchdowns. Wide receiver KC Concepcion (31%), the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year, finished second in the voting. Running back Jordan Waters and defensive back Aydan White also received votes.

Noah Rogers, Justin Joly expected to be Wolfpack’s breakout players

Fans say wide receiver Noah Rogers and tight end Justin Joly will be the Wolfpack’s breakout players this season. Rogers, an Ohio State transfer and Raleigh native, received 41% of the votes. Joly, a UConn transfer, picked up 34% of the votes. Both players are projected to be among N.C. State’s top playmakers for an improved offense this season. Linebacker Sean Brown, wide receiver Keenan Jackson and defensive back Donovan Kaufman also received votes.
