NORMAN — After a months-long recruiting battle, Michael Fasusi is heading to OU.
The Lewisville, Texas, native announced his commitment to the Sooners over Missouri, Oregon, Texas and Texas A&M on Wednesday afternoon.
Fasusi, who committed inside the Lewisville High School auditorium, is ranked the No. 12 overall player in the country and the No. 3 offensive tackle nationally, per 247Sports’ composite ranking. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh — who celebrated his birthday and the commitment Wednesday — was Fasusui’s primary recruiter and welcomed him on seven total visits to Norman over the last year and a half.
Fasusi was one of the most coveted recruits in the country. He ventured on 26 visits to eight schools nationwide.
According to 247Sports’ Composite ranking, Fasusi is OU’s 14th highest-rated commit ever.
Sooners head coach Brent Venables has landed five five-star recruits across the past three recruiting classes. Fasusi joins defensive lineman Adepoju Adebawore, quarterback Jackson Arnold, safety Peyton Bowen and defensive lineman David Stone as former five-star recruits on OU’s roster.
Fasusi joins fellow blue-chip offensive tackle Ryan Fodje in the Sooners’ 2025 class.
Prior to Fasusi’s commitment, OU’s 2025 class ranked No. 8 in 247Sports’ team ranking, between LSU (No. 7) and Notre Dame (No. 9).
