Here’s how much Clemson football is paying its non-conference home opponents in 2024

CLEMSON — It will be a seven-figure price tag for Clemson as its football program hosts three non-conference opponents this season at Memorial Stadium.

The non-ACC opponents are Appalachian State on Sept. 7, The Citadel on Nov. 23 and rival South Carolina on Nov. 30.

Last season, Clemson paid a total of $1.6 million after hosting two non-ACC opponents. Charleston Southern received $400,000, and Florida Atlantic secured $1.2 million.

The Tigers will also take on Georgia on Aug. 31 (noon ET, ABC) in the Peach Bowl’s Aflac kickoff game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Here’s how much No. 14 Clemson is receiving from facing No. 1 Georgia and is paying to their non-conference home opponents in 2024, according to game contracts obtained by The Greenville News via open records requests.

Aug. 31: Georgia (neutral)

This will be the highest-ranked Week 1 matchup, and the game has sold out. The Peach Bowl, Clemson and Georgia executed this game agreement in August 2018.

The organization will pay $5 million to each school by Nov. 15, 2024, for participating.

Each school will receive 70 complementary bench passes and 32 suite tickets for the game. Both also will have 200 complimentary tickets to the College Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 30.

Sept. 7: Appalachian State

Clemson and App State entered this agreement in January 2018. This will be the sixth game between these schools with the latest occurring in 2015, when the Tigers won 41-10 at Memorial Stadium.

Clemson will pay $1.25 million to App State by Feb. 15, 2025, for facing it this season. The Mountaineers also will be allotted 2,300 complimentary tickets.
