IHSAA football scores: Week 1 roundup, highlights, stats from across Indy-area

Here are the nominees for Week 1:

Gabe Aramboles, Westfield: The senior Ball State commit had seven catches for 138 yards and a touchdown as Class 6A No. 4 Westfield defeated No. 3 Center Grove, 34-28.

Tanner Aspeslet, Lawrence North: The senior quarterback was 13-for-19 passing for 211 yards and three TDs as the Wildcats knocked off Lawrence Central, 33-26.

Jalen Bonds, Cathedral: The senior rushed 25 times for 162 yards and one TD as No. 10 Cathedral knocked off Class 6A top-ranked Ben Davis, 24-6.

Jayden Buchanan, Roncalli: The senior quarterback was 14-for-21 passing for 288 yards and four TDs in Roncalli’s 37-13 win over Southport.

Ashton Carter, Avon: The junior running back went for 184 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in Avon’s 41-28 loss to Lafayette Jeff. Carter also had a 53-yard pass.

Jacob Davis, New Palestine: Davis scored a touchdown on his first rushing attempt as a Dragon and set the school record for the longest play in school history with a 99-yard TD pass to Austin McMahan. Davis finished with 209 passing yards and three TDs.

Caleb Foor, North Central: The senior quarterback was 31-for-46 for 428 yards and four touchdowns and four interceptions as North Central lost 49-35 to Fishers.

Maverick Geske, Brebeuf Jesuit: The senior quarterback was 21-for-40 passing for 390 yards and two TDs in Brebeuf’s 58-35 loss to Class 4A No. 2 Bishop Chatard. Geske also ran for a touchdown.

JonAnthony Hall, Fishers: The Stanford commit started his season with nine catches for 151 yards and four TDs. Hall also had a 57-yard kickoff return in Fishers’ 49-35 win. Hall only played half of the…
