Watch live: Ryan Day holds press conference before Ohio State vs. Akron

The Ohio State football season has arrived.

Ohio State will open the 2024 schedule at 3:30 Saturday at Ohio Stadium against Akron. The game will be broadcast on CBS with the Buckeyes kicking off the season as the No. 2 team in both the preseason Associated Press and US LBM football coaches polls.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day will preview OSU vs. Akron in a press conference at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. He is expected to be followed by defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly.

Ohio State has won eight of nine meetings against Akron, last losing to the Zips on Sept. 5, 1994. Ohio State last played Akron Sept. 25, 2021, when the Buckeyes beat the Zips 59-7.
