4:23 — Mike Mitchell’s first touchdown as a Ute gave Isaac Wilson his first scoring drive as a Ute.

Mitchell outran the defender to the corner on a 4-yard touchdown run, the first score of the second half for Utah. Utah 42, Southern Utah 0.

Wilson kept the drive alive with a 19-yard fourth-down pass to Daidren Zipperer that moved the Utes to the SUU 20.

10:32 — The first turnover Utah forced of the season comes courtesy of Elijah Davis, who intercepted a pass to end a promising SUU drive.

Davis returned the ball 13 yards to the Utah 43 to put the Utes in solid field position.

Halftime

Utah 35, Southern Utah 0

What a first game back for Cam Rising, and his night is already over.

He threw for a career-high five touchdowns and 254 yards on 10 completions in the first half before exiting in the final minute of the half.

Utah has outgained SUU 339 yards to 84 in a completely dominant effort.

True freshman Isaac Wilson came on in the half’s final 30 seconds in replacing Rising, and while he struggled and took a sack and threw an interception, the second half should give him more opportunities to show what he can do.
