The start of the college football season is set to wind down with a primetime top-25 matchup in Las Vegas between No. 12 LSU and No. 23 USC in the Modelo Vegas Kickoff Classic.
LSU, which finished last year with a 10-3 record, enters the 2024 season with a new quarterback in 6-foot-2 redshirt junior Garrett Nussmeier. He is the son of Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier, and led the Tigers to a 35-31 ReliaQuest Bowl win last year vs. Wisconsin.
Sunday’s game also is the first for USC as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Trojans are entering their third season under Lincoln Riley. Quarterback Miller Moss, who threw for 372 yards and six touchdowns in the Trojans’ Holiday Bowl win vs. Louisville, will also make his full-time debut as USC’s starting quarterback.
