The Alabama Crimson Tide kickstarted the Kalen DeBoer era in fashion on Saturday. The Crimson Tide defeated the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 63-0 to improve to 1-0 on the new season. From the start, things looked relatively easy for the Alabama defense. As the game moved on, the offense came into its own as well.
Needless to say, it was a strong performance all the way around for the Crimson Tide. There were several new faces that contributed over the course of the game which is a positive sign moving forward. Several familiar faces also made quite the impact as well. Overall, the Crimson Tide coaching staff should be pleased heading into a Week 2 game against the South Florida Bulls.

I think Alabama fans were aware of what true freshman Ryan Williams could do in Kalen DeBoer’s offense. However, I don’t think anyone envisioned Williams reeling in two receptions for house calls. The Alabama native finished the game with two receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns. That is as strong of a performance as anyone could have anticipated for the former five-star.
