Michigan State football defensive back has impressive stat after week one

Michigan State’s Angelo Grose returns an interception against Florida Atlantic during the second quarter on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

While the offensive woes may have stolen the spotlight after Michigan State football’s week one win over Florida Atlantic, the defense showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with this season. Perhaps the most impressive player, especially in the secondary, was defensive back Angelo Grose.

According to Ben Stevens of SportsGrid, Grose stands alone with an impressive stat. According to Stevens, Grose is the only player in the FBS to have interception, 10 total tackles, and more than eight solo tackles in the first game of the year.

Impressive stuff for Grose.

So far this 2024 CFB season…

113 FBS players have recorded an INT in one game.

54 FBS players have recorded 10+ total tackles in one game.

10 FBS players have recorded 8+ solo tackles in one game.

Only one (1) has done ALL three in one game:
