By now, it’s well documented that college football has entered yet another era of seismic conference realignment.

And one of the several driving catalysts behind this new “wild wild west” stems from the dissolution of the Pac-12, with two of its members finding new homes on the opposite side of the country in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Week 2 of the young college football season features one of those new teams in a primetime slot, as new ACC SMU member welcomes the Big 12’s BYU to Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas for a “Power Four” nonconference matchup.
