UCF football game delay: Knights vs. Sam Houston pushed back due to lightning near stadium

ORLANDO — Kickoff for UCF’s non-conference home game with Sam Houston has been delayed due to inclement weather in the vicinity of FBC Mortgage Stadium Saturday.

According to the school’s Fan Experience account on X, UCF is waiting for a 30-minute window with no lightning strikes within 8 miles of the stadium in order to start the pregame clock and open the stadium bowl.

The weather delay started around 4:45 p.m. Kickoff was initially scheduled for 6:30.

An updated kickoff time will be determined once the 30-minute window expires.
