Heisman Trophy Rankings after Week 2 have Miller Moss in the hunt

Tim Prangley, Trojans Wire

USC’s Miller Moss doesn’t lead the Heisman Trophy rankings after Week 2 of the college football season, but he is certainly in the mix. Notably, the player we have at the top of our Week 2 rankings just won on the road in Ann Arbor against the Michigan Wolverines. Quinn Ewers of Texas leads our latest Heisman top 10, but that brings us back to Miller Moss. If the USC signal-caller can win his own big game in the Big House, USC would move to 3-0. The Trojans would soar to the top of the Big Ten standings. Beating Michigan is something Ohio State has not done the past three years. USC could do so in Week 4 of the season (the Trojans get Week 3 off) and give themselves a chance to produce a great season. If Miller Moss looks at least solid — not even spectacular — he would make a very important national statement to Heisman Trophy voters. He would convey the idea that he is a big-game quarterback who doesn’t get overwhelmed by the moment. USC beating Michigan would thrust the Trojans into the center of the College Football Playoff conversation. Miller Moss would put himself at the heart of the Heisman conversation if he plays well in a USC win over Michigan. With that in mind, here is our latest Heisman Trophy top 10, and we’ll be updating this list every week of the 2024 college football season:

Ewers went 24-for-36, 246 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and 0 interceptions on the road. Hopefully Miller Moss can live up to this standard, or at least come close to it, when USC faces Michigan in two weeks.

2. QB, Carson Beck, Georgia

Beck and the Georgia Bulldogs dominated Tennessee Tech 48-3 on Saturday. Beck went 18-for-25 with 242 passing…
