OXFORD − With SEC play starting this week for Ole Miss football, it’s time to get extra information.
No. 6 Ole Miss (4-0) will face Kentucky (2-2, 0-2 SEC) at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at 11 a.m. Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
In accordance with SEC guidelines for all conference games, teams must provide an injury report on Wednesday nights before games. The reports will be updated daily up to 90 minutes before kickoff.
Don’t consider Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin a fan of the new protocol.
“It is what it is,” Kiffin said. “I don’t think the system was broke, so I was hoping we didn’t change it. I didn’t feel there was enough reasons to.”
Eight Ole Miss players are listed as out. Wide receiver Ayden Williams and cornerback Isaiah Hamilton are the only Rebels who check in as questionable.
Defensive lineman Jared Ivey’s status will be one to monitor. He is probable to play against Kentucky. Ivey is dealing with an ankle injury he got in the Week 3 game at Wake Forest. It kept him out of the game last week against Georgia Southern. Ivey, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound senior defensive lineman, has been a big part of the Rebels’ dominant defense. He has two sacks this season.
