Alabama football will not have the chance to ease into SEC play Saturday night.
The No. 4 Crimson Tide will host No. 1 Georgia as its first conference opponent of the 2024 season in a game that could define both teams’ paths to a potential SEC championship and a College Football Playoff berth.
Alabama kicks off against Georgia at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC.

No matter the opponent, Alabama’s “swarm” defensive identity remains the same each week under defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, with ball-hawk defensive backs and athletic outside linebackers doing everything in their power to force pressure and create takeaway opportunities.
The Crimson Tide will try and do so against quarterback Carson Beck and a Georgia offense that has not had a fumble or an interception in 2024, and that has a reputation of not making many mistakes.
