The Miami Hurricanes are starting to see the offensive domination and win-loss success the school expected when hiring Mario Cristobal away from Oregon. Miami signed Cristobal to a 10-year, $80 million contract as one of the 15 highest-paid coaches in college football following the end of the 2021 college football season. The Hurricanes went 12-13, including 6-10 in the ACC, over Cristobal’s first two years at the school, but Miami enters its third ACC opener under the head coach with the No. 2 scoring offense (51 points per game) on the second-most yards (623.7 per game) with a 4-0 record. No. 7 Miami plays Virginia Tech (2-2) in the Week 5 college football schedule as the Hokies had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 26-23 loss to Rutgers last week.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
