Former Lausanne QB Brock Glenn to start for FSU with D.J. Uiagalelei injured | Report

Former Lausanne quarterback Brock Glenn will start for Florida State in its home game against Clemson on Saturday after starter D.J. Uiagalelei sustained a broken finger in the Seminoles’ loss to SMU, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Monday.

After subpar performances across FSU’s disastrous 1-4 start to the season including a 20-12 home loss to Memphis in Week 3, Uiagalelei will reportedly be sidelined for multiple weeks.

Glenn, who is from Covington, appeared briefly against SMU after Uiagalelei left the game, but failed to complete any of his four passing attempts.

“We want Brock,” chants broke out at Doak Campbell Stadium earlier in the season during FSU’s loss to unranked Boston College, dropping the Seminoles from No. 10 in the country to unranked.

Now, it appears the redshirt freshman will get at least a couple of games as the starter, beginning with No. 15 Clemson, Uiagalelei’s school from 2020-22. It will be his first start since FSU was crushed by Georgia 63-3 in last year’s Orange Bowl after the Seminoles were controversially left out of the College Football Playoff despite an undefeated season.

Before that game, Glenn led FSU to a 16-6 victory over Louisville in last season’s ACC Championship game.

Star quarterback Jordan Travis went down with a season-ending injury in Florida State’s penultimate regular season game last year. After a one-week trial run with current Southern Miss starter Tate Rodemaker, Glenn threw for 229 yards and rushed for a touchdown in his first career start.
