Whether it was at Ohio State or now in the NFL, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has wowed viewers with his hands, feet and legs, which he has used to make him an all-American and a first-round NFL draft pick.
In his fourth game of the 2024 NFL season, he got to show off his arm a bit, too.
With his Seattle Seahawks team facing a third-and-16 against the Detroit Lions on “Monday Night Football,” Smith-Njigba caught a pass from Geno Smith one yard past the line of scrimmage. After cutting to the middle of the field, and with a tackler converging on him, the former Ohio State star tossed a lateral across the field to Zach Charbonnet, who caught the pass and ran 16 yards for the first down.

The Seahawks’ drive stalled from there and they punted five plays later.
Smith-Njigba had four catches for 24 yards in the first half. In the first three games of his second NFL season, he had 17 catches for 175 yards. He had 63 catches for 628 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie last season for Seattle, which selected him with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Smith-Njigba played three seasons at Ohio State, from 2020-22. His college career was highlighted by a 2021 season in which he had 95 receptions for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns, which included 15 catches for 347 yards and three touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ win over Utah in the Rose Bowl. His 347 receiving yards were the most ever by an FBS player in a bowl game and his 15 receptions were an Ohio State single-game record.
