The No. 14 LSU Tigers are looking to enter their bye week on a high note with a win over South Alabama. The Tigers have won three games in a row, and they have a great chance to extend that streak this weekend.

LSU is fresh off a nonconference clash with UCLA last weekend, and it was in a battle through the first three quarters. The Tigers managed to pull away late for a 34-17 win, and quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had a big hand in that. He completed 72.7% of his throws for 352 yards and three touchdowns.

The Tigers did keep the Bruins under 300 yards of total offense for the game, and they forced a pair of UCLA turnovers. There might still be some questions in the secondary, with Bruins signal caller Ethan Garbers throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-36 passing.

South Alabama has been able to shake off an 0-2 start and rattle off two straight wins, but going to Death Valley will be a daunting test. If the Jaguars are looking for a sliver of hope, it’s that their offense has gone nuclear in their last two games. They hung 87 points on a shortened game against Northwestern State, and the Jags just dropped 48 points on Appalachian State.
