The Athletic’s Pete Sampson

Notre Dame quarterback commitment Deuce Knight has flipped to Auburn after multiple visits to the Plains. The Irish had been barely hanging on here for months and were not optimistic about keeping the fringe five-star prospect in the class. Knight is a unique talent.

Unfortunately, the Irish couldn’t hang onto Knight’s commitment.

Irish Sports Daily’s Matt Freeman

Notre Dame has been working behind the scenes on 2025 quarterbacks since the summer. Relationships have been built, so it’s not scramble mode in South Bend. That said, they will likely need to flip someone themselves at this point. pic.twitter.com/pYl7OOqV8D

Another defensive commitment that isn’t wavering.

WXXV’s Jevan McCoskey

Knight speaks on his decision, which doesn’t make anyone feel any better.

Rival’s Sam Spiegelman
