It’s time to vote for the Menke GMC Athlete of the Week for the Central Wisconsin area.

It’s free to vote, and the poll is open until Thursday at noon. This week’s slate includes a lot of outstanding performances; you can choose which one you think is most undeniable.

Before you vote, here is a look at last week’s top performers in the Central Wisconsin area.

Colton Weiler, Auburndale football

Auburndale senior running back and linebacker Colton Weiler dashed for 119 rushing yards and two touchdowns, helping Auburndale snap Abbotsford’s undefeated streak in a 28-7 win on Oct. 4.

Gio Gomez, Wausau East football

Wausau East kicker Gio Gomez played hero on Oct. 4, knocking in a 29-yard game-winning field goal with 39 seconds remaining to help the Lumberjacks knock off Merrill 16-14.

Daelyn Rieck, Colby volleyball

Colby junior Daelyn Rieck finished with a serve receive rating of 2.42 and hit 0.407 with 14 kills on 27 attempts with only three errors. Rieck also added seven digs and seven assists on Oct. 1.

Johnny Matthews, Stevens Point football

SPASH running back Johnny Matthews ripped off his best-rushing game of the season, rushing for 222 yards on 27 carries. Matthews added two catches for 30 yards and a receiving touchdown in SPASH’s 35-14 win over Eau Claire North.

Jackson LeMay, Chippewa Falls

Chippewa Falls senior running back and defensive back Jackson LeMay also helped snap a winning streak last week, rushing for his second 100-yard game. LeMay rushed 19 times for 175 yards for a touchdown and grabbed an interception in Chippewa Falls’s 41-36 win over D.C. Everest on Oct. 4.
