UCF Knights football game against Cincinnati unchanged after Hurricane Milton

UCF will resume normal campus operations Saturday following Hurricane Milton, and the Knights’ football team will play its Big 12 Conference matchup against Cincinnati as originally scheduled, a university spokesman confirmed to The News-Journal on Thursday night.

Kickoff at FBC Mortgage Stadium between the visiting Bearcats (3-2, 1-1) and Knights (3-2, 1-1) is set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday, airing on television on ESPN2.

UCF is still in the process of finalizing gameday operations and hurricane relief efforts, which will be announced Friday.

UCF last had a game rescheduled due to a hurricane during the 2022 season. Hurricane Ian forced two postponements of the Knights’ contest with SMU, ultimately moved from Saturday, Sept. 30 to Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The Knights went on to win that game 41-19.

During its back-to-back undefeated regular seasons of 2017 and ’18, UCF lost one Power Five non-conference football game apiece. Hurricane Irma scrapped a planned home date with Georgia Tech, and Hurricane Florence canceled a trip to North Carolina.

Cincinnati and UCF will not be the only college football contest played in Orlando this weekend. Earlier Thursday evening, the American Athletic Conference announced that South Florida’s home game against Memphis would be relocated to Camping World Stadium, with kickoff still slated for 3:30 p.m.
