Football recruiting is at a rapid-fire pace right now. Here are three things to know as we approach the final weekend of June:
Mason Alexander commits to Pitt
Hamilton Southeastern defensive back Mason Alexander, rated as the No. 9 in-state player in the 2025 class by 247Sports, committed to Pitt on Wednesday following a weekend official visit.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Alexander, who took an official visit to Purdue three weeks ago, had 39 tackles and three interceptions from his cornerback position as a junior and was named Class 6A Junior All-State by the Indiana Football Coaches Association.
Alexander also had offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

“They were my first offer, so I’ve always had the connection with (secondary/cornerbacks coach) Archie Collins,” Alexander said of Pitt. “When I got to campus I felt the love from the entire staff, got to spend time watching over my film with Archie, got to spend time with their players and see how they connected. The facilities and the city were very nice and I love how they produce DBs. It just felt like home.”
