Auburn football loses young cornerback for season to injured ACL

ALEXANDER CITY — Auburn football is already down a cornerback for this season.

After appearing in four games in 2023, redshirt freshman Tyler Scott injured his ACL during team workouts this offseason and will miss the entire 2024 campaign, coach Hugh Freeze announced at an AMBUSH event Tuesday.

Scott is a four-star recruit from the Class of 2023. He was rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 329 overall player and the No. 33 CB in the nation. With him sidelined, expect Auburn to look to Alabama transfer Antonio Kite, second-year player JC Hart and true freshmen Jay Crawford and A’Mon Lane-Ganus for more playing time.

Senior Keionte Scott and sophomore Kayin Lee are the expected starters on the outside. Champ Anthony is the anticipated starter at nickel.
