Indiana high school football: Key dates to know for the 2024 season

We’re less than a month away from high school football kicking off once again in Indiana.

There’s excitement for another season on the gridiron, from the jaw-dropping catches and gallops into the endzone to the overtime thrillers and game-winning drives. There will be low-scoring affairs and back-and-forth shootouts, rivalry showdowns and homecoming. Who will be the six teams crowned as state champions at the end of the year in Indianapolis? Those answers are yet to be determined.

Soon, high school football stands across the state will fill up once again, with students, educators, families, friends and fans. There will be bands playing music, spirit squads firing up the crowd, lines for concessions and children constantly throwing the football around. They, too, could see action on the gridiron in the future.

The Indiana high school football playoffs begin on Oct. 25 for Classes A through 5A and Nov. 1 for Class 6A.
