SEC Recruiting: Analyzing the QB commits

The quarterback is the most important position not just in football, but maybe in sports. With that, college football fans are naturally enamored with the recruiting of the position.

As fall camp starts around the country and the season nears closer, let’s see where teams stand in the recruiting department of the position.

It should come as a shocker to no one that Alabama has one of the top overall quarterbacks in the class headed their way. Russell has had possibly the biggest offseason of any player in the country, winning the Elite 11 Finals, Rivals Five-Star QB Challenge, and excelling in 7v7, all of which has resulted in his ranking and stock skyrocketing.

The Duncanville product is looking for his third straight state championship in one of the toughest divisions in the country, Texas 6A.

Arkansas

The Razorbacks keep one of their own in state to man the duty in the 2025 class. Wilson is one of the longest tenured pledges in the class having committed in April 2023. Coming off a monster junior season that saw him pass for over 3,400 yards and 41 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

The Arkansas quarterback room is covered for at least one season, but it will likely turn to a battle for the job when Wilson arrives on campus.
