CFB analyst predicts Georgia to lose two games

The Georgia Bulldogs have been heavily selected as the top team in the nation during the preseason, including in the release in the US LBM Coaches Poll earlier this week. However, one top college football analyst sees the Dawgs’ schedule as a potential hurdle to a fourth straight undefeated regular season.

CBS Sports’ Josh Pate predicts the Bulldogs to finish 10-2, with a best case record of 12-0 and worst case of 8-4. Pate has Georgia rated as the top overall team in the country but points out that they have to face six other teams he has rated in his top 25, those being Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Pate notes that five of these six matchups also take place away from Athens.

Should Pate’s prediction come to fruition, Georgia would suffer their first loss in the regular season since Nov. 7, 2020, against the Florida Gators. Pate also recently projected the Bulldogs to fall short of the SEC championship, selecting Texas and Ole Miss to meet in Atlanta.
