Texas A&M football vs. Florida grades: As all around, except for a few units

Texas A&M football earned its first Southeastern road win since 2021 on Saturday, defeating Florida 33-20. And they did it without their starting quarterback Connor Weigman.

Instead, it was Marcel Reed who led the Aggies into the Swamp. The backup played his role brilliantly, especially for a redshirt freshman.

Before the game, coach Mike Elko announced that Weigman would be available in a backup role if needed. Turns out, Texas A&M did not need him as Reed ended the game with 178 yards on 11-for-17 passing, three total touchdowns and 83 yards rushing.

Reed was completely unfazed by the moment and his dynamic athleticism opened up all kinds of rushing lanes for him and his running backs. He threw one pass that probably should’ve been picked off, but was fantastic otherwise.

Reed’s rushing ability drew attention from Florida defenders and helped LeVeon Moss and Amari Daniels wreak havoc on the ground. They rushed for 178 yards combined, and Moss averaged 6.1 yards per carry.

Moss shrugged off Gator tacklers all game with a punishing run style. His longest run was 27 yards. Amari Daniels was explosive at times and E.J. Smith had a few impressive runs in front of his legendary father and Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith.
