It was a peaceful weekend for fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide as they enjoyed a bye week after a 3-0 start to the 2024 season. For a bonus, the Auburn Tigers suffered an ugly home loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks, falling to 2-2 on the season.

With No. 2 Georgia also on bye, No. 3 Ohio State playing Marshall and No. 1 Texas facing Louisiana Monroe, it was a rather calm weekend. The only major shake-up in the Week 5 AP Poll was Tennessee climbing up to No. 5 after dismantling the Sooners in Norman. Nine members of the SEC appeared in this week’s Top 25.

The season truly gets going next weekend as Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama for the first time in the Kalen DeBoer era. The winner of that game will more than likely end up in the SEC Championship game. With both teams coming off a bye, they should both be healthy and with good game plans. It’s going to be a fun one on at Saban Field.
