Texas A&M’s Mike Elko readies team for final neutral-site Southwest Classic

Texas A&M football head coach Mike Elko was happy his Aggies beat Bowling Green on Saturday but pointed out in his weekly talk with reporters Monday that his team has a lot of work to do going forward.

The Aggies (3-1) weathered a tough storm brought on by Bowling Green to win 26-20. Now it’s back to SEC play.

The Razorbacks are fresh off of a 24-14 win over the Auburn Tigers.

According to Elko, the problem was his team’s inability to play a complete game, wire-to-wire.

“We were very choppy. … If you look at it from a big picture standpoint, it was choppy in a lot of areas, so there’s room to get better,” Elko said. “We played a horrendous third quarter, allowed them to get back in the game and get momentum.”

Despite the up-and-down play Saturday, his Aggies were able to grab the lead on…
